FeedIndicator is a very simple application that brings RSS updates right into the notification area. It is basically an App Indicator that uses Notify-OSD to deliver feed updates in the form of notification popups which you are pretty familiar with.

To install FeedIndicator on Ubuntu, simply download the
.deb (HERE), then either use a GUI tool (USC/GDebi) or run the following command in a terminal:sudo dpkg -i <FILENAME.deb>
